NATG2, Day 1 - Cherry Sails waits for a Carriage

So I'm participating in Equestria Daily's second Newbie Artist Training Ground ([link]) competition/thing this month, and this is my submission for the first day.

Now, as you can see, I'm not too great at this whole 'art' thing, but the goal is to get better and that's what I intend to do. On that note, please comment with any and all criticism; anything will be helpful.

This was drawn with pencil and paper, with a few blemishes cleaned up in GIMP.

Expect more tomorrow! (We can only hope it will be better, heh.)
